Graduation Requirements

Case Requirements (Cumulative)

1. 40 vaginal deliveries
2. 20 C-sections
3. 100 pediatric cases (< 12 years of age, including 15 infants < 1 year of age, and 1 infants < 45 weeks gestational age)
4. 20 cases involving cardiopulmonary bypass
5. 20 intrathoracic noncardiac cases
6. 20 intracranial cases (Including some intracerebral vascular cases)
7. 20 major vascular cases 
8. 10 Major Trauma cases
9. 50 subarachnoid blocks
10. 50 epidural blocks
11. 40 peripheral nerve blocks for surgical procedures
12. 25 nerve blocks for pain

Technique Requirements (Cumulative)

1. 10 Laryngeal Mask Airway placements
2. 5 Double lumen ETT placements
3. 1 fiberoptic intubation 
4. 20 arterial line placements
5. 20 central venous catheter placements
6. 10 pulmonary artery catheter placements
7. 1 EEG monitoring

American Board of Anesthesiology Board Eligibility

Upon graduation from the program, the resident must be American Board of Anesthesiology Eligible.  All residents will take the written board exam, in July following the completion of the resident’s CA-3 year, as a candidate.
